International Travel... to Virginia

We finally caught up with some of our Virginia friends yesterday, some of which believe a passport is required to visit between northern Virginia and Maryland. B has an excessive number of "adult" friends in this group. Thankfully he has P to bring some maturity to the group.

He may not have put the Christmas trees on the porch but he's definitely guilty of rearranging the decor

New Year's Eve

For a few years now we have joined our family of friends for New Year's Eve. One year, before any kids, we had an NCAA-style beer pong tournament, complete with inappropriate team names and, although we play beer pong with water to keep the carpets clean and not get germs (yes, I know how old that makes me sound), excessive drinking. Last year part of the group was away in Scotland so 4 of us (2 pregnant and 1 kid) had a quiet New Years Eve performing modified Bonenkai traditions and in bed by 9.

This year we had the perfect hybrid of the previous 2 years. We made an excessive amount of tapas, had a pre-midnight celebration around 7 for the kids complete with Hogmanay-style "singing" of Auld Lang Syne (we're very multi-cultural), spent a majority of the evening putting kids to bed, watched The Hangover II, and had a little champagne at midnight mixed with leftover sparkling cider from the earlier kids celebration.

Eating at a table for 6 with 5 adults and 3, soon to be 4, kids at the table is a squeeze so we ate separate on this occasion, although we normally make it work for typical family dinners

Hogmanay celebrations - according to Aunt L & Uncle M in Scotland everyone stands in a circle, sings Auld Land Syne, and jumps up and down. We found the song to be way to slow for jumping so Big B jumped in slow-motion

Not sure how this evolved, but A decided all the kids were to wear monkey pajamas for New Year's Eve

Emptying High Chair

This is for my parents who have been waiting for B to empty the contents from something (high chair, changing table, anything really) to get back at me for doing the same at B's age. The bibs in the high chair is becoming a favorite to empty lately.

Also entertaining are laundry baskets

Why is it so much fun for B to bother K?

K left, now what do I do?

I know...

B - I'll tear the bookshelf apart! K - I have nothing to do with this!

B's friend, N, daughter of my best friend since high school, up to visit for the week!

All three playing, nicely I think

I had a great birthday this year. We took the kids to B's first open gym time. A thought the 20+ kids there were all my friends for my birthday party. I wonder why she thinks I have so many friends under the age of 5... A also informed us that "Uncle Brian" was there watching the kids play.
